Pricing Questions

How do I know which experience is right for me?

You don’t have to guess. It comes down to one main thing: how long you need wedding pet care coverage during your wedding events. Let us know the moments you want your dog included in (photos, ceremony, etc.) and the rough flow of your day, then we’ll recommend the right experience level for your timeline.

Can I customize an experience? (i.e. what if i need 3.5 hours?)

Yes. Everything we do is customized around your timeline, locations, and your dog. If you don’t see something listed, ask - we’ll tell you what’s possible, what we recommend, and price it clearly in your proposal. You can add time in 15-minute increments, up to 7¾ hours total.

If only want my dog included for a few photos, do I still need to book an experience?

Yes - because even “just a few photos” still requires planning and coverage time (arrival, timing buffer, handling during photos, and whatever the wedding day decides to do that day). We’re happy to design a photo-focused plan - just keep in mind our minimum experience length applies, even if your dog’s on-camera moment is short.

What counts as “hours of coverage” - when does time start/end?

Coverage hours are the time your wedding pet attendant is actively on duty and responsible for your dog. Time starts at the scheduled arrival/pickup time and ends at the scheduled handoff/drop-off time in your plan. If your timeline includes pet transport between locations during that window, that travel time counts as part of coverage. 

Aftercare vs Overnight - what’s the difference? How does an overnight work?

Aftercare is short-term care before or after the wedding (usually 1-11 hours), where your pet is not actively part of any wedding events. Overnight care is when your PFY sitter stays with your dog all night, either at your home or at your hotel. If it’s at a hotel, you provide the room. 
Please note that we don’t have a boarding facility and cannot provide overnight pet care in our sitter’s home.

I have more than one pet. How is it priced? Do I need two sitters?

Experiences are built around one pet. If you’re bringing more than one pet, we’ll recommend the simplest setup that keeps things calm, safe, and realistic for your timeline. Most weddings still only need one dedicated wedding pet attendant. We typically add multi-pet support in one of two ways:
  • One sitter, multiple pets (hourly add-on) - If one sitter is handling more than one pet, we add an hourly adjustment: +$35/hr for a second dog, +$25/hr for a third, +$20/hr for a fourth.
  • A second sitter (when it’s the smarter option)
  • We usually recommend a second sitter as part of the wedding events when the combined dog weight is 40 lbs+, pets have very different needs or energy levels, your day includes multiple locations or transitions, or you want someone focused on handling while we manage timing and logistics. Second sitters are added to your experience at $135/hr.

If you have a friend or family member who wants to “hold the leash for the cute parts,” that can sometimes keep you at one sitter. Either way, we’ll walk you through the best option during your consult and outline everything clearly in your proposal so pricing feels fair and straightforward.

Is travel included?

Yes. All our wedding pet care experience includes:
  • Wedding-day pet transport up to 25 miles round trip
  • Up to 1 hour of local sitter travel (commute time without your pet in the car)

If your logistics require more than what’s included, you’ll see a separate travel line item outlined in your proposal. Additional rates (when applicable):

What does “1 hour of local sitter travel” mean?

Most wedding pet attendants aren’t “local” in the same way your regular dog walker is. We match sitters based on your dog and your logistics, then we account for travel fairly.
“1 hour of local sitter travel” means up to 1 hour of total commute time for the closest available PFY sitter, without your pet in the car. We estimate this using Google Maps (including the date/time feature when available) based on:
  • where we’re meeting your dog (pickup vs venue)
  • where your dog is ending the day (drop-off)
  • your timing (because 2pm and 6pm can vary drastically in some areas)
  • matching the right sitter for your dog (size/handling needs)
  • sitter availability for your wedding date

Example: We’re picking up your pet at home, and dropping them off at their usual boarding location. Based on the closest available sitter, we calculate the sitter commute time to pick up is 1 hour and from the drop off point is 30 minutes.  
  • Total commute time = 1.5 hours
  • Included = 1 hour, billable = 30 minutes
  • 0.5 hours x $35/hour = $17.50 (included in your travel fee) 

Please note: We won’t adjust this fee because traffic was worse than expected. We only update travel if your locations or timing change significantly after booking.

Are parking and tolls included?

If parking or tolls are part of your plan, we include the estimate in your travel line item upfront. That amount won’t change unless you add or change locations (or shift timing enough that it changes the route).

When is an UberPet needed? Why would that be included?

UberPet is typically a city-wedding exception - not the norm. In places like NYC, Boston, DC, or Philadelphia, short distances can still take real time, and UberPet can be the most efficient option based on access, parking, and timing.

If we use UberPet instead of the sitter’s car for pet transport, we apply a $20 credit to your travel fee since you’re not using the included mileage in the sitter’s vehicle.

How can I pay? 

There’s a secure payment link on your invoice. If you’d rather use another method, just tell us so we can keep an eye out for it and manually mark the invoice as paid.

What does your payment schedule look like? do you require a deposit? 

To reserve your date, we require a 15% non-refundable retainer (applied to your total). After booking, your remaining balance is split into two payments:
  • 35% due 3 months before your wedding date
  • Remaining balance due 1 week before your wedding date
If you book within 3 months, we’ll adjust the schedule accordingly. We typically send your final invoice about 2 weeks before the wedding so there’s time for any last updates. 
Need a different schedule? Ask - we can usually accommodate.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your 15% deposit is non-refundable. After that, refunds depend on how far you are from the wedding date:
  • 90+ days before the event - refund of payments made (excluding the deposit)
  • 60-89 days before the event - 50% refund of payments made (excluding the deposit)
  • Less than 60 days before the event - no refunds


Are tips included? 

Tips aren’t required, but they’re always appreciated. You’re welcome to tip your sitter in person on the wedding day. If that’s not convenient, email us after your event and we’ll share the easiest way to send a gratuity that goes directly to them.
